RE-TORQUE HEADS?????

Engine, transmission, rear-end, driveline, fuel system etc..

360 break in

after 500 miles should i re torque heads?
i have stock heads and bolts

I know it's recommended with aluminum heads, but I'm not sure about cast iron... either way, metal is going to expand and contract with heat cycling and this could theoretically be a reason to check your head bolt torque.

Seems like I always heard to re-torque upon initial warm-up. Don't know about thereafter. :study Couldn't hurt.

Factory didn't do it. What type of head gaskets? It is an easy job to do in a sweptline.

yes, retorque after rebuilding an engine but if I remember correctly its more like 1000 miles :study

As long as you torque the heads in at least 2 steps (I always do 3 steps) you don't need to retorque the heads. Only the intake and exhaust manifold bolts need retorqued after initial breakin and the motor cools completely down.
