Interesting. Is that something that would have been installed at factory?

Re: Clutch slave rubber hose
All yrs that had a hydraulic clutch, 61-68.
Re: Clutch slave rubber hose
That's interesting as my 1968 w200 that I've had since 1982 didn't have that hose. However about 10 years ago I swapped out that line from an older dodge truck that did have that hose so mine currently has it I just assumed the early model had it and the later ones didn't.

What did it have instead?MikeM wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 10:19 amThat's interesting as my 1968 w200 that I've had since 1982 didn't have that hose. Wildergarten has 2 68's and can report what they have. One was mine and I don't remember it having something different.
If your hose was damaged in the 14 yrs before u got it, it could have been replaced with anything.
Re: Clutch slave rubber hose
Main line directly bolted right into the slave cylinder. It also had a loop in it on passenger side before it went straight down to the slave whereas the line I have in there now has no loop but the hose.
Re: Clutch slave rubber hose
loop not needed if you have the hose.

Re: Clutch slave rubber hose
No hose, just the loop to absorb the vibration. I don't think it did much to relieve stress and allow play compared to the flexure in the straight runs but was certainly adequate. The metal hardens when it's bent like that. They sometimes did that with the lines off the master cylinder too, which in a short run like that may have helped.
