Re: New guy with dodge rv seeking knowledge
I put some new shocks on her and she drives like a dream!!
Got my stereo system installed as well. DVD/CD/GPS/Bluetooth and back up cams. I put a 10" subwoofer in and 6 6.5 Polk Audio speakers with amps. This thing BUMPS now!! Cruising the beach is so much better with music. I also put in some LED lighting.
I've been taking it to the beach to surf and enjoying everyone's reactions.

Been working on the interior paneling as well

Re: New guy with dodge rv seeking knowledge
It's been a little while since I updated this thread so here are some photos of what's been going on.
first I had to do something with this motor. She was going too slow and using too much fuel. New digital ignition, distributor, plugs, wires, fixed some exhaust leaks and a carb tune (along with some new chrome doo dads) and she's running a lot smoother and cooler. I got her up to 75 and could maybe get it up to 80 but it's pretty sketchy at those speeds. I can cruise at 55-65 pretty easily now.

Interior coming together.

I also put a door in the rear so I can slide surfboards in and out. The other side of this door will be my bed frame. That way I can store boards/luggage under my bed

The floor boards were completely rotted out and so was a panel under a small leak by the window.

Found some cool 70's cup holders on ebay and made some door panels for them. Complete with ashtrays and cigarette lighter!

You seem to be kinda handy. I thought the "Toaster" was really cool to begin with and it just keeps getting better. Nice job.

Every time I visit this thread it puts a smile on my face. If they knew it could look this good when they built it they would have built more.

Re: New guy with dodge rv seeking knowledge
Got some more updates fellas!
Had to show you guys my new handmade steering wheel by a guy in Washington named Big Ron.

Also did some stainless steel headers, dual magna flow exhaust with an H pipe. She's sounding MEAN!

After I fixed all my exhaust leaks from my manifold I retuned the carb. Now every time I push the brake pedal my idle goes up and pulsates. Looks like my brake boosters shot. I'm dropping it off on Wed to be rebuilt or replaced. Crossing my fingers that it's done in time for the 3 day weekend. Want to take her to the beach!

I like the old White wheel but the camper looks sweet overall. You can sell the white wheel for pretty decent money BTW.

My wife likes the white one too!
I was thinking about selling it but it looks pretty sweet hanging in my garage.
Re: New guy with dodge rv seeking knowledge
If you ever let it go you'll fined it very hard to replace later.
