Weatherstripping/gasket recommendations.

I need to order all the weatherstripping for my 68, can you guys recommend one over the other? I bought a windshield gasket for my Crewcab and it fits good I just can't remember where I got it from? Thanks

I have gotten rubber gaskets from here http://www.steelerubber.com they seemed to be as good as any of the other companies I have tried. the worst gaskets that I have used from any of the companies is the door window felt weatherstrip . it is never as firm as the original and I am never happy with it no matter where I buy it.

This was my experience as well. I got 3 out of 4 to work well (one on each side of 2 windows) but one wanted to drag and pull and nothing we tried really worked. It was on the inside of the window so I cut out the most offending part (not an optimal solution at all) and it works somewhat better.

How about copious amounts of silicone spray on the felt?

I used the kit from Restoration Specialties (or at least the window shop that installed my windshield did) about 7 years ago and it was great. They made it look so easy I wish I would have saved a couple hundred bucks and done the work myself.

The Fairchild cat whiskers are the best IMO. As Shawn said,metal with felt. Have them on 4 trucks. Clesters for windshield rubber. Best price hands down and they fit! ( frt windshield seal $65,rear large $55,rear small $35)

Same here. Used Fairchild for all of them. I bought a set of the Steele rubber ones that I'm going to try on the 70.

Yes! Chris remembered the brand. Agreed on his review.

I've seen the rubber style mangle when you roll up and down.

afternoon Andrew, bought rubber products thru a fella in Denver. Robin i believe . thought they were expensive, but every thing seems to be. dont know were he sources his wares, perhaps someone will say.. but not impressed. vent window rubbers dont seal below the window, door seals are no were close to complete seal. quite a few pneumonia holes. guess the biggest pisser for me is now having to remove without screwing the paint. i,ll watch this to hopefully find a usable source. thanks. gary

Re door rubber gaskets - what is the piece of rubber that sits on the rail that supports the window glass (secures the window in the raising/lowering mechanism)?

Not seeing it listed .... wondering if you just use a piece of something else?

don't know what it's called or where to get it
but i snapped a photo of my original one when i redid the channel..
maybe seeing it will help you locate a good replacement if yours is missing
