I'm thinking about looking for a replacement cab for our school 65 D100.
What cabs interchange? we'll keep our nose metal and doors......so just the cab is needed.
Once that in known...what do they go for?????????? on in NJ.....any chance to find one reasonably?
thanks

Re: cab swap education needed
I'm gonna guess 61-66 100/200 series. I know door handles/latches & other things began changing somewhere along the way.
Is yours an early 65 (4 headlights) or late? May not matter though.

Depends on how "original" you need it to be. Any 61-66 100 or 200 cab will bolt straight on. 300 and up cabs from the same period can be modified to fit, steering column sits different and transmission tunnel would need to be swapped. Cabs 67 to 71 have different door latches so you would need to modify the striker area of door frame to make fridge handle doors fit. You can leave this part alone but it depends if you care about the door handles. Cabs 69 to 71 the dashes mount different and are made for manual clutch linkage, so there are changes in the floor and firewall if you need a hydraulic clutch to hook up. That part doesnt matter if it is an automatic because you can just patch the hole for the clutch linkage. Also 68 and up all had wide back windows but that was an option 61-67.

It gets kind of sticky as far as setting up a column shift automatic as well, due to theW500 wrote: That part doesnt matter if it is an automatic because you can just patch the hole for the clutch linkage. Also 68 and up all had wide back windows but that was an option 61-67.
Z-bar pivot which can't be easily installed on the frame, due to the rear spring perch
and hydraulic bell housing cross member. Also, there are differences where the wiring
harness bulkhead passes through the firewall.

but quite a project nonetheless.
