Have to move, save a 70 short bed from getting scrapped
Hello,
I live in Fresno area of California,
I have to move out of my house by Thursday 2/26 can't take truck with me 360 /727 short bed. Major project with potential, I can get about $500 if I scrap body and sell engine/Trans, has pink slip, if anyone wants to save one from scrapper, 500 takes it, short bed is worth that alone if you need one.

FYI Kent, and all readers:
Scrap price has gone to hell!
Last Fri delivered to the Port of Oakland:
Sheetmetal and light steel $35/ton (local $20/ton)
#1 heavy iron prepared $70/ton
see:

Feb 7
As you may know by now, scrap steel prices have taken a big hit this month. The prices have finally settled and our scale price has dropped to $85/ton for sheet iron. Unfortunately, there are several factors contributing to the decline, making a quick turnaround unlikely. The two biggest causes of the massive drop this month are decreasing worldwide demand for scrap steel and the increase in the value of the dollar. Barring a major worldwide event, we would not expect to see prices go much higher than they are now until summer at the earliest, but most likely ferrous prices will be down for all of 2015.
Non ferrous scrap prices have seen a more gradual decline over the last several months. Our scale price for scrap copper has dropped below $2 for the first time in a long time. Scrap aluminum, stainless, brass and other non ferrous materials are at similar lows. The causes are basically the same as that of the steel price decline, slowing global demand and a strong dollar. There is no price spike in sight for these materials either. Unfortunately, it looks like 2015 will be a tough year in the scrap metal business.

All the bigger shame to see one go so cheap, had it on Craigslist trying to sell, lots of hot air no action, my hands are tied it goes Thursday no matter what.PwrWgnDrvr wrote:FYI Kent, and all readers:

Re: Have to move, save a 70 short bed from getting scrapped
Thank you everyone, made a deal locally, but thank you to swept liners in paso Robles, and Santa Maria, who made efforts to save it. I am not out of it yet, a local mopar guy is going to store it for me for a while in exchange for the 360 an 727, I guess I will be putting my spare 440 in it next year, I will update you all then, thank you to all the well wishers, my wife is on the heart transplant list so that is the reason for the sudden move, closer to San Francisco UCSF, priorities.

Best of luck, the truck isn't as important as your wife.
