Re: 1964 dodge d100 Oklahoma shops?
I just did a four wheel brake job on the 68 Utiline D100, Rock Auto had brake shoes at $6.75 per axle, hardware and self adjustor kits under $5 per wheel and front drums and front bearing seals on closeout. Mine was pulling to the left HARD it was nothing more than a bad self adjust cable on front right, keeping the front right from adjusting up properly, and the back shoes were greasy from bad axle seals I replaced a decade ago. I put new seals and bearings in, spray off all I could with brake cleaner, and put the new shoes on the to do list. In the meantime, wife got a new job 1,000 miles away that paid very well, so we sold the homestead in Texas, has a very long and involved move during the 08 housing meltdown, finally ended up in a cabin, on the side of the mountain, in the national forest. Then we had to clear land, build a shop, move from 2wd to 4wd and all that other life stuff...
Until this summer, where the SIL tears up her ankle, goes in a cast and needs a automatic to drive. Out comes the 68 Utiline...and going down our gravel driveway, locks the left front ONLY...and the complete brake job. Now I have extra shoes, wheel kits, and hardware since the TW will get the NEXT brakejob, after we complete the welding...

Re: 1964 dodge d100 Oklahoma shops?
Update on the 1964 dodge d100 short wide.
Brakes- rear axle seal trashed the shoes on the right side rear, and the wheel cylinder was leaking.
Clutch- was about 60% used up! and the slave cylinder was leaking. Now these issues are fixed.
Poor idol, the jets where not working right, this is fixed now.
I just got my used timing chain cover today, and maybe it will be once again back on the street soon.
I'm going to replace the water pump since it is the 50 year old original, and all hoses and belts.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: 1964 dodge d100 Oklahoma shops?
I can't believe it, my truck is finally home.
Runs great, shifts gears like new, and screams in 2nd gear. Stopping this beast quickly is a challenge. Brakes work, like a 50 year old truck, but work.
The timing gear cover, off an old 318 Poly on ebay worked perfectly, and I also had them change the water pump, the thermostat, and the hoses and belts.
They fixed the messed up ignition to where it now starts with a key. They fixed the jets on the carb, (carter 2bbl) and it idles very well.
Great mechanic, and fair on pricing. Howard's Garage in Harrah, Ok.
I had to put on some new hubcaps (new to me), from a 1950 Dodge truck. They look like they belong.
Now I need some new tires and to fix the gas tank (original is being Vatted by a radiator shop), and to put the chrome letters and trim on it. And once I get them
recovered, my new Adventurer buckets (Black Vinyl).
This has been an adventure. I can't thank you guys enough. This is a great site.
enjoy
