Hey guys,
What do you think a frame off resto of a utiline like this would be worth? I'm thinking of getting one for a project. It's got the original motor. I know it's not a sweptline, but damned close!
I haven't found anything like it online, but I'm thinking $15k when I'm done?
Let me know your thoughts, I'll probably be getting it tonight!

I would never look at these trucks as an investment....

Agreed!. I'm doing a frame-off on my 64 Ute, and I doubt I'll ever get the money out of it. Even with my frame off I don't think it is a 10-15k vehicle. I haven't kept track of the hundreds of hours and many dollars spent. I'm doing it because, I've always loved the Sweptlines. All theses auction shows, chop/slap together and ebay have elevated the cost, not value, "all" classic vehicles.

Re: 1969 D200 Utiline Value?
Our trucks (7) were just appraised by our farm bureau policy writer...
I bought my 69 D100-128 10 years ago, paid $995 for it, have put around $2500 into it. It values out at $500.
My 1949 Dodge B1B-108 (1/2 ton, 2wd, short bed Utiline) has been in my family since new. Period lowrider project, values out at $200.
My 1992 K1500 Silverado ext cab short wide 350/700r4/NP241(paid $300) values out at $2500.
My 1994 Ranger 2wd short bed with a 2.3L and 5 speed values out at $1200.
My 1992 Ranger 2wd long bed with a 2.3L and a 5 spd values out at $800, and it has a bent frame.
Father in law's 1987 Chevrolet C60 bucket truck with 350 industrial and pto equipped 4 spd values out at $2500.
Father in law's 1985 C10 Silverado 4.3L V6/TH400 short wide values out at $5500.
Don't expect TV money from an old Dodge unless the rebuilder-restorer-modifier is on TV. The BJ-Mecum-Overhaulin'-Fast and Loud-etc shows have absolutely destroyed the vintage vehicle world. If you intend to buy a truck for its resale potential value, get a Chevrolet. If you want a truck that is going to keep going no matter what you do to/with it, get a Dodge.

If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.

Re: 1969 D200 Utiline Value?
Paid $1250 for the 68 D100 Utiline a decade ago, did a mechanical overhaul, rebuilt engine, trans, front end, suspension, brakes and such. Probably have 5k into it, based mainly on the mechanical over cost, plus tires, $400 seat recovering, body and rust repair, new IV trailer hitch...
What is it work? whatever some will pay me for it, probably under 2k...
