Need a rear

Post by strummin67 »

My '62 D100 may be in need of another rear end. One of the brake drums is cracked and no one that I've talked to so far offers replacements. I have an 8-3/4 rear with 3:55s. Any suggestions?

I may have a rear hub and drum left. I will get back to you today.
If you want to upgrade to the 65 up rear end, I can help there also.

Pull really hard! At least that's how mine came off while the rear end was off the car.

I have a complete rear end (minus the pumpkin: it has a 4.56 posi in it... I need it for racing) but the rest of the rear end is there and intact. If you want it, you can just have it. it would give you most everything else you need..... or I could send you the brake drums.

I have axles, housing and backing plates for a 70 if you want to build a new style one, You will need wheel bearings, drums from autozone, your pumpkin, and your brake hardware, I live in Madera and am going to frisco on the 30th would charge $125 for housing axles and backing plates. I have a stop in Campbell already near you, for another $200 I have a chunk with 3.55 gears open non posi. I also have gm metric weld on caliper brackets for $20 a pair if you want to build a disc brake set up, I also have a pair of new mopar perches for $10 if you want to do an axle flip for some reason, I also have a harbor freight drum puller for $20. Let me know.
