hood emblem paint

I am in the process of reassembly after paint. I have the 69-71 adventurer hood emblem. The paint in it is faded. Is it supposed to be orange or red?

Here is a picture of a nos hood emblem. The colour looks to be orange. Hemi orange? The colour is the same as the center medallion for 1971 wheel cover. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that is great info. Looks orange to me too. I have a small amount of extra paint, I think I may put the body color in it to see how it looks. If it looks bad, I'll find some orange. What is that nos emblem worth?

It seems that much of the Red used in the 60s faded to Orange over time. I would find it hard to believe they used Orange and not Red on trim. It still looks more Red than Orange on my screen.

I found some other pics of emblems online and it would appear that they are red, not orange. Soopernaut I believe you are correct in the assumption that the red fades to orange. Thanks.
