Disc brake bolts

So I am trying to do a front disc brake conversion on my 66 D100, and I have got the calipers from a 1990 C1500 and rotors from a Crown Vic. Rather than order the Scarebird brackets, I decided to make my own. The plate I made fits great, however I am having trouble finding a nut to tack weld to the plates that will thread onto the brake caliper pin bolts that came with the C1500 caliper. I went to the auto parts store and they said that was some kind of one off thread that GM made for those calipers, however I see on the Scarebird brackets that he just has nuts welded onto his plates. Can I find the nuts that I need somewhere? Or does the scarebird kit come with different bolts?

Its Metric you should be able to get a nut but mayby that thread pitch isn't normally stocked at stores. Try calling Dorman with the part number or go to a real HW store that has more selection.

I've done a little more research and I think they are an M11X1.50, not very common. I am trying to run down a tap so I can get some threads cut.

I was bored at work and looked on dormans site. They have an oversize one that you use if your threads get stripped its listed as having 12mm x 1.5 threads. I googled that and found its the same as lug nuts. The stock size one doesn't show the thread size though.

Yes they are m11-1.5 threads. When I was on the dorman site I clicked the tech support link. They answerd really quick.

BTW I made my own disc brakes too. I have a crew with an axle that no one makes a kit for. I did a month of research to find a caliper and disc that would work. I got good at finding dimensions etc.

How thick did you go on the plate material? I am going with .25 stock, I think that will be sufficient.

I used 3/8' because it lined up right and matched some stock plates I bought. The kits like scarebird are 1/4".

My brakes. I have them all hooked up and working now.

I have only driven up and down my 100 foot driveway they work fine so far. I am runnng a 1973 dodge truck disc/drum power booster and a summit prop valve for the rear. W/O the prop valve you will face plant the windshield. At least thats how mine was before I put it in.
