Now I'm into Vans!
The junkyard I frequent got this sweet van in a couple weeks ago. It caught my eye, and I had to have it. I was out there again yesterday, and I asked him how much, and he told me a price I couldnt refuse. It had its gas tank taken out, and I was unsure if it even ran. I took an old boat tank with today and some gas and new 3/8 rubber gas line. First thing was to find where the battery was or would go, it was filled with a bunch of crap in the back so I had to dig my way to the back of the drivers seat. The battery was missing so I robbed one out of a nother vehicle, that battery was two months old, score. I hooked up the cables and it turned over. I checked the oil, wasnt any. I look underneath and the drain plug is gone and the oil filter was missing, hmm. I spun a new filter on, installed the drain plug and four quarts of oil went in. Power steering was full, antifreeze looked full enough, and I dumped some gas down the carb. Hit the key and vroom, she took right off. Purrs like a kitten. It is 318 powered and has 3.55 gears. I found the gas tank after I got back to the shop but the sending unit is missing, the straps are under the van still. I hope an a body sender will work, looks like it will. For now Ill just use this boat tank. Sure is fun to drive though. Power steering works great, brakes work great, nothing leaks.

Nice A100!! Gas tanks are hard to find for those though. Is there any interior in it?

They are fun!!!

They are fun!!!
Re: Now I'm into Vans!
I have the gas tank, just no sending unit, Ill make something work tho, it looks close to an a body.
The interior is all in it, and it is in good shape, Im missing one couch cushon tho. It has an inverter, a sink, some hose with a spray nozzle that apperars to also work as an outside shower, some cabinets and a stove.
I like your pop up top, If I could I would remove the top on mine, oh well.

Well, the previous owner is going to jail for a long time I guess, and the dad said he wasnt storing his stuff, so to the scrap yard it went.

Should we keep an eye out for a Van/Cummins conversion thread?

Damn you! That thing is bitchen ...
Re: Now I'm into Vans!
Well, the tank appeared to be fresh form a cleaning, so I grabbed a sending unit out of an old a body tank, and it works perfect, it actually looks like they used the bottom half of the a body tank in the a100's, heck it could be they used the bottom and used it as the top too. None the less, I got the tank installed and a fresh fuel filter, some rubber lines were also put on where needed and it runs like a top.

How's this one coming along?
Re: Now I'm into Vans!
I look at it once in a while, too cold to do anything with it. I have started it a few times, choke seems to work good, other than a good bath and a vacuum, I havent done much to it. I did get the title in my name and some plates on it.

I also had to put one new (used) tire on it, I wonder how that happened!
