Exactly what makes you think it is a 62? It barely shows the truck and it has amber parking lights, which started in 63.

So how are 62 taillights different than 61, 63, 64 and early 65 taillights?1965DodgeD100Dave wrote:the rear tailights.soopernaut wrote:Exactly what makes you think it is a 62? It barely shows the truck and it has amber parking lights, which started in 63.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
that may be, but the bed could have been swapped out years ago or could be modified. the only way to know the year is to look at the door plate or frame rail.1965DodgeD100Dave wrote:my 65 doesnt have the little round lights in under the 2 bigger tailights

Those other lights were added later. All 61-early 65 Sweptline bed trucks had one set of round lights from the factory.

In the old series from back in the day the series Quincey with Jack Klugmann had a swepty if I remember going over a cliff in the opening credits. Don't remember the actual episode.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
I forgot that about 10 years ago Steven King did a series that was filmed up here in British Columbia and my brothers 1952 Dodge 1/2 ton short box step side was used in the series. If I could only remember what it was called but it had something to do with an alien. Only saw it once. It was in a few scenes.
Finally remembered the show. It was a mini series called Taken. Now to find the episode.

Ha! Just saw the very beginning of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation where they got run off the road by a couple hillbillys in a really rough looking swept! Never noticed that before and I see this movie every year!

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
I just watched an episode of Gomer Pyle and seen a Yellow Long Bed in the back ground. The show was from late '67, so... not sure exactly what year it was, but probably a 67 or 68 as Chrysler sponsored the vehicles in the show. Also, I found this really cool was in the same episode Gomer pulled up next to a parked Black 1968 Road Runner!!!! Had the 5 spoke wheels with Red Line tires too.

And it was also when TV was 'innocent' and you didn't have to worry about if your child should be watching or not! Ah... those were the days. I am glad I grew up then.dodgeboykim wrote:Shezam Shezam. Gomers favorite words of happiness and for things gone wrong.
That episode for Gomer Pyle is called: "Gomer, the Good Samaritan" Season 4 Episode 16 and was originally aired on Dec. 22, 1967. (Just looked it up)

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
I've seen a few episodes of Emergency, Adam 12, other crime dramas and some 60s biker movies where the subject matter might not be suitable for everyone. I've also seen movies where black people were treated differently and called things that you couldn't say on TV now.Jims68 wrote: And it was also when TV was 'innocent' and you didn't have to worry about if your child should be watching or not! I also don't think censorship is going to make all the world's problems go away. Sheltering children from the world doesn't change the world, it just changes their viewpoint of the world.
