New guy from Indiana wants to build a 65-67
Hello, folks. I'm a Mopar man through and through. I have always loved the 60's vintage Dodge pickups. I've had the desire to build one for years. So, I now have this idea of pulling the body off my '01 club cab long bed and putting a crew cab 65-67 on my chassis with a long bed. So, I will have to lengthen the frame on my '01 to do this. I started researching this and found that SEMA build by ICON and it's really got my interests peaked. So, a little more internet research and I find you fine folks.
I farm and so, it won't be a garage queen when I am done. I plan to use it, just like I use my '01. So, my first step is to find a crew cab and a long bed. Living in Indiana means slim pickings for rust free stuff. Any leads on what I'm looking for would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to learning from all of you.

Thanks for the advice. What's a good price to pay?

Free is always good. It all depends on what you find, the condition it is in , what it will cost to get it in the condition you desire and how much it will cost to transport.Ryno wrote: What's a good price to pay?

I'm still looking for a good crew cab close by. I check the adds that folks post in the for sale section. Still hoping to find a good one at the right price. I sure wish, I lived in Oregon. Seems like they sure sold a ton of them in that part of the country.

From the zip code, I would say you are in the Auburn area - I just recently moved from there, and still have some great friends in that area. You are right though, slim pickings in that area. GOod luck, andRyno wrote:I'm from a small town 20 miles north of Fort Wayne. Thanks for the welcome.mopardwh wrote:Hey Steveto the site! I'm down in Evansville, where are you located?

Also, here is some more info if you still plan on using the newer frame.

I've concluded that if you use a 61-65 londbed box, you won't have to extend the frame, but instead add frame to the rear and cut off some of the front.
