1969 W200 Locking Hubs
1969 W200 Locking Hubs
I recently picked up a 1969 W200. On one side it has a Warn, the other a Dualmatic hub. I assume the Dualmatic is the original because of the dash sticker. Are these hard to find? It looks like they were used on old Jeeps too. Are there different spline #s or sizes? Were they good?
This truck has few miles on it (47k mi and the foot-pedals arent hardly worn), but its life has been a snow plow. Overall it is in good shape. If I restore it, I may want the Dualmatics because they are cool looking. Can someone enlighten me?

Humm, I always thought Warn was the original OEM supplier. My '68 + '70 W-200's came with the Warn M-7's. I don't know anything about the Dualmatic front hubs.
Re: 1969 W200 Locking Hubs
I spent a few evenings trying to research Dualmatics on the net. It seems they were made until the mid 60's. I cant find any info on different sizes, models etc. Here is an image if this works: http://www.cj3apage.com/restoring_dualmatic_hubs.htm

Not sure which Warn model hub you have but they were OEM supplier. My 70 W200 had this model.

JohnB, the M-7 doesn't have the taper, it is cylindrical front to back. I'm sure you have seen them.
BTW; I need a lesson on how to upload photos.

I think Dodge used several different Warn hub models from 61-71. Not sure if there is any "correct" model number for a particular year but Warn was the OEM supplier.

I have M-7s on all of my Power Wagons. John935guy wrote:JohnB, the M-7 doesn't have the taper, it is cylindrical front to back. I'm sure you have seen them.

Service manual for the year of truck to see if it shows a dualmatic. My 66 had the M 7 Warns originally. Now have the newer Warns used on the 69/71 Power Wagons.
Re: 1969 W200 Locking Hubs
The Dualmatic hub and the dash sticker. I had been around a lot of old trucks but never seen this hub. My Dodge Tech Svc Manual for S series trucks talks about Warn hubs but nothing specific . I think they had some NOS stock and threw some on....
I would actually like to find a matching one for the other side. Any ideas?

Re: 1969 W200 Locking Hubs
Jeeps had those locking hubs but I have never seen them on a Dodge. They are pretty simple and seemed to work OK but I don't think they are factory. Mine came OEM with the M-7 style and they were an option that had to be ordered.
