I don't know when exactly they stopped, but I don't think a 70 would have split rims.

Those are split ring wheels from what I see. They were available up through
'71 in 16". I had a set on my '71 W200. It wouldn't be hard to find a set of
one piece 16" wheels that those hubcaps would fit on. Aside
from re-texturing the roof, it looks as though a buff and wax job would
make that truck look very respectable. Its always nice to see one like this
discovered and rejuvenated. Even with the rips in it, that
seat is probably worth more than half of what the entire truck was bought
for.

Thanks for the comments in this forum. As I continue to clean the truck I realize more and more that I have struck gold. If anyone has the panel for the tailgate I am interest in purchasing one....thanks

What do you guys know about the black top? some sort of coating? Was it optional? Was it Dealer or just aftermarket applied?

There was a factory offered simulated vinyl paint for the roof available in either Black or White. It was available for all models-well maybe not the Sweptline Special. There were also aftermarket kits available to consumers so they could do their own.

Does anyone know if you can buy the seat re-upholster material for that split bench? Need to get it on order. I pulled off all the trip and badges today so that I can detail it. I did a test spot on the hood and did the driver side fender....looks amazing.

I tink that the seat is pretty much the same as the lifestyle truck, though the material and stiching style probably varied over the years. I would call places likr Legendary, and try to talk with a Mopar guy. They may have some info that isn't posted on the website.

They're the same seat covers but not the correct style for your year, damm close though. Another option would be to take the seat to a reputable auto upholster and have them custom make new covers in any color you'd like using the old covers for reference. That's what I did with mine.

Mike has been buffing and cleaning the truck. It's coming out so clean. He will be polishing all trim before intallation.
Mike pulled the seat to have the driver side recovered, and to pull the fuel tank and have it flushed out. The fuel tanks is full of crap.
Look what he found under the carpet. It looks brand new.

Still Cleaning, it just keeps amazing us how clean and rust free the truck is. Coming along nicely. I can't wait to get down to Socal to see it. Mike is installing insulation under carpet and anywere he can put it. He has also cleaned out the ac/heater box.
