Can someone point me in the direction of finding service manuals for the braden 10,000# MU2 PTO winch.

Need to find out if the input can be turned around so I can mount the winch behind the cab.

I have an MU-2 hooked up to a Canfield Wrecker boom on my '67 w200
parts truck. It is driven from the PTO on the NP435 [Chelsea?]. It has an
actuator lever as opposed to the cable set up. The shafts and pillow
blocks are all there and hooked up. It looks to have about 50-70 feet
of cable on the spool. If I were to sell something like this, I'd probably
ask about $950 plus shipping.

I still have one on a 70 truck,tryed to sell the whole truck with the winch on the front.for that price ! Gess what ! I still have it .It's no longer for sale,I have another truck that it will be going on .

The operative word in my post is "IF". At present, I have no plans on selling
my set up. I was just answering Boons's query as to approximate value.

If the winch itself is in decent operable condition and you can
use some [or all...] of the drive shafts/pillow blocks, etc., you
might have something there. Is the PTO a 10 bolt
or a 6 bolt?.... Just curious....

MU2s were made for around 30 years or so. they are not rare. if you just have the winch and no factory mounting hardware then it is only worth maybe 150 bucks. if you have the correct front and rear mounting pieces that make it fit on the 42 thru 68 Dodge WC and Power wagon trucks then a perfect one cleaned up with new seals you might get 400 for it. It is the best light duty winch for a truck ever. they almost never need rebuilding. If I ever own W300 I would run an MU2 over any other winch. keep it! run it! everything else is a wannabe! pull toyotas out 3 at a time. pull fords out 2 at a time.

Pretty hard time beleiving you'd let one go for only 150 and then say its one of the best light duty winches ever made....cheapest one ive seen in these parts was for 400 and it was missing the drum.

I can't run it anymore, won't fit and I'm running a 205/203 doubler. Was going to put it in my friend's farm truck but he changed his mind put a Warn in the back.

the point is they are not rare. rarity is what make sprices high. I see them for a year on CL at 400 plus. They arent selling. see them on ebay for months and the only ones that sell have a low starting bid and never reach high numbers unless they have the correct mounting hardware to fit a WC or PW. Even then usually less than 400.

Never said they were rare, but there not plentiful by any means. Reason its hard to sell them is because hardly anyone runs or needs to run a PTO.

to go back to your original question I dont know if that could be done but you could possibly just run the PTO on the other side of the trans so no winch changes would be necessary. ??
