Discussion - Dodge Adventurer Sport

Post by PwrWgnWalt »

Saw this and wondered if anyone knew this D-100 for sale in AL? Not sure it's a true "Adventurer Sport", but it does look nice... :Thumbsup

Great looking truck, It looks like a "Adventurer Sport" emblem on the interior door pad.
Foley is down near the Gulf coast, about 3 1/2 hours from me. I've been there several times but have never seen the truck. I hope someone will be able to appreciate it.

It should have Adventurer Sport emblems on the bed. Also notice it has a Pentastar on both the driver's and passenger's side. I'm thinking perhaps it has had some work/repaint done to it.

Those adventure bed emblems do not look correct for 69-71 trucks.

Yep, someone added the driver side fender pentastar.

Also, it looks like the hood turn signal indicators are not in the right spot.

I also forgot to mention the Adventurer Sport was a 1971 only trim level in a Sweptline.

Great looking truck. Hope the new owner enjoys it. I wanted to show an example of what the correct "Adventurer Sport" badge for the rear fender looks like. Of course I had to include an example of the "Adventurer SE" as well.

Nice truck for sure, only thing I don´t like are the rear bumper, looks a little goofy on this truck.

Right on everyone! Good eyes!
(and very nice examples of the emblems, SEAnthony!)

Several items that don't add up for this '71-only offering:
Wrong Adventurer script (what shows on the truck is from later 70's)
Interior door trim is all wrong - wrong Adventurer script (& should be on vinyl-covered trim w/brite runners)
Pentastar on driver's fender
Hood turn signals in wrong location (too far from corners)
Wrong tailgate (should not be raised letter; either flat or with bright aluminum placard)
Wrong outside mirrors
Definitely been repainted (see hood hinges)

Nice looking pickup, though! I like the bed rails. See it's been de-listed...
Looks solid, and its amazing what a paint job and some shine will do for 'em!

Here's a '71 Adventurer Sport. No hood turn-signal indicators, but note the bright mirrors (the gas cap is incorrect - should be brite, but everything else should be correct)...

Yes, I know they are rarer than "hen's teeth" in this shape. I'd been looking for many years for one... found this pickup last year.
Will be going through it and doing a full resto someday: 318/automatic, A/C, power brakes, saddle tanks.
Needs just a little body work, a few trim pieces, cleaned up and a fresh paint job. Interior needs upholstery and dash pad.
Best of all - no rust. :dance
