Is anyone aware of Conversion Kits for the Distributor for change over to the Electronic or the Entire Distributor replacement?
Thanks In Advance.

Re: Electronic Distributor ?
Pertronix for distributor only or you can go with the Mopar Performance kit that has wiring. Thats what I did and you can keep the single wire alt.

Re: Electronic Distributor ?
I went with a Pertronix, since the '71 already had the electronic voltage regulator. Since it needs full voltage to the distributor, I gutted a ballast resistor and put a 12 gauge wire in the back of it, so with the hood open and air cleaner on it looks stock.

Re: Electronic Distributor ?
With all types of electronic setups besides the Pertronix you will have to swap the distributor.
If you have a small block you can get an Electronic distributor at Advanced Auto or Rock Auto for about $40 with a lifetime warranty and use a factory type Mopar electronic ignition module. I found a MSD 6A for about $35 on Craigslist locally and my setup is a budget setup but works far better than the points system.
There are also a number of ways to do electronic with a GM HEI module also. It really depends on your budget and if you like one system better than the other.
If you have a U-Pull junkyard in your area you can get the entire setup for less than $50 from the proper car or truck.

Re: Electronic Distributor ?
I've been real happy with the pertronix swap in my '61 slant six. Kept the stock coil and ballist resistor as they were new before the swap, as well as a remanuf. dist.... Chris.
