Sound System

Post by Dustys66 »

Got an old 8 track car stereo to put in the old 66, also got an adapter that allows me to play casettes in it, then i can get an adapter to play my ipod through that, kinda confusing i know... but the good thing is i think i can rock out without hacking up the dash and putting in a newer stereo.

Thats technology from the 80s. Back when I had a 77 Diplomat rocking out as I cruised down the road. Jim

My '64 Fairlane 500 Sportcoupe..... (my HS ride in '67) had a reverberator...was a local band called the "13th floor elevators" really sounded cool to their music...guess I'm showing my age.Chris. In 1969, traded the fairlane for a '68 coronet 500 yellow with black vinyl top 318...my first dodge.

then you really want to know more about the starter peddle on the floor or the distributor advance on the steering colum.
best i can remember about the 4 track player is the lever you would pull engaging the drive wheel to pull the tape through or most times feeding a mile of tape onto the floor board. and the reverb, well well well thats thats thats how how how things things things were were were then then then..

 its not like the subs today where some kid puts big @#% subs in behind the seat and it makes the car shake apart. i guess im relying on technology to do more work for me then it use to be :thinking

Yep, I have one now. Picked it up at a garage sale a while back for $5. I also had a 58 Plymouth with a reverb, LOL.

I don't get over here much any more now that I dont' own a Sweptline, but I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
