Re: My 81 Dodge Crewcab Cummins Conversion
Yah 4 x 4 would have been nice, but I got a pretty good deal on the Cummins and the truck so I couldn't pass them up.

Nice work. I did an 85 crew 4x4 a few years back, it's one of the few that I wish I had kept.

Awesome man! But I gotta ask, Why an 81 instead of the swepty crew's you use to own? BTW, is that blue one still around town?

Re: My 81 Dodge Crewcab Cummins Conversion
Well I bought the Cummins first. I was looking hard for a swepty crewcab, but didn't find the right one. I found this on craigslist and it was just to good of a deal to pass on. I do like the truck and it drives nice, but I am really itchin to build a swepty with a cummins. Probably won't happen because I'm getting ready to start working on the panel truck again
..Yes I drove the wheels off the 51. It was in metal when I sold it. The guy primered it black and looks pretty good... Kind of regret selling it, but I can build another one and I needed the funds...The baby blue truck was around for a while. Then it went to california for a bit. Last time I saw it I think it went back east somewhere. The new owner was on here for a bit...

That truck is definitely the inspiration for me getting my crewcab. Now I just need to do something with it.wideblock wrote:cant help but think how cool that build would have been on your old black d300.

Slick i think you are talking about mine! is that the one frankyb had? if so, she is still alive and well and now resides in Kansas. Do you have any idea where the bullet holes came from?slick wrote:The baby blue truck was around for a while. Then it went to california for a bit. I love the 6bt swap and think its a shame they never left the factory that way. yours looks like it could have though!
Re: My 81 Dodge Crewcab Cummins Conversion
Slick is talking about a really clean four eye Slant 6 crew cabdodgeb1b wrote: Slick i think you are talking about mine! is that the one frankyb had? if so, she is still alive and well and now resides in Kansas. Do you have any idea where the bullet holes came from?

He also had a nice Pie Plate Crew Cab that he put a ton of excellent
work into.
Regarding your '69 W200...... I got in touch with Frankyb as soon as he
put it up for sale. I had a vehicle hauler lined up with a great rate. It
came down to a decision between it and a '65 Pie Plate W200 Utiline that another
forum member had for sale a couple of hours away. About the ONLY thing
that kept me from flipping the deal over with Frankyb was the fact that
the '69 had 4:88s in it. I already own a '68 W200 with the same gears.
You got yourself one heck of a truck. Frankyb put a lot of work into the
drive line.

Re: My 81 Dodge Crewcab Cummins Conversion
Different truck I think. Pretty sure my 64 went way out east. My D-300 crewcab went way out east as well and never seen again. Lost track of the 67 crewcab. Was for sale about a year ago.
