70 in Excellent Condition
Friend just called had to share with group.
Couple of weeks ago another friend called me about a 1970 D100 that was going to be at auction in Virginia. Auctionneer sent me photos and info, I couldn't believe it, a 1970 with just under 75M and very, very original. Only problem was I had just purchased the 71 Camper Special and had no more Dodge $$ or place to put it. Emailed a few close Dodge friends (sorry decided not to post to groups). It didn't sale at auction, didn't meet family's reserve on it. So after Youngbloods decided they didn't want it, I called another good Dodge friend, he went today and couldn't get over how nice it is, so it's now at his place, he plans to drive it to my place Sunday to show me.
Photos attached, he's going to remove camper shell, west coast mirrors & fog lights. Has the 383 engine, no rust and came with all original paper work including the window sticker. Got it for less than I paid for my 71, so that really hurts.
I'll share more information & data on it after I see it in person soon. Just thought I'd share with group...
Take Care,
Nollie

Now there is a time capsule. I'd leave it exactly as it looks. If he just has to pull the mirrors, shell and fog lights, grab them. Hard to find.

Re: 70 in Excellent Condition
Will get VIN numbers and more photos when I see this truck in person, hopefully on Sunday.
The Fog Light, Jr. West Coast Mirrors and camper shell have been removed. He also discovered more paper work with it and that the seats had seat covers on them, the original seats underneath look like they have never been sat on.
The Camper Shell he is going to give to me, since my 71 is a Camper Special, we will be painting it to match the brown on my new truck. Wish I still had my antique wooden canoe to mount on top of it, guess I'll have to look for another one.
More Later,
Nollie

My gosh that's nice! Thats what I would order today if I could, although I'd add buckets! Please post some photos of it without the canopy and ugly mirrors if you get a chance.

How could you go out and buy a new truck when these are still around?

Re: 70 in Excellent Condition
Why would you want to deal with all the gremlins endemic to late models? Cheap plastic, cheap wiring (even cheaper than Swepty wiring, and that's saying something), cheapie chi-com sourced everything...
Although I did have to buy a new fuel pump for my 69 D100 today. And still have to replace all the wiring (farm special courtesy of previous owners). And add a brake return spring...
That blue 70 is too nice for its own good. Can't have any fun with a truck that clean.

Re: 70 in Excellent Condition
Finally got by my friends in VA, that purchased this 70 D100. It's a great survivor with some minor paint issues and other issues that the first owner added to it, like holes for CB Radio, speakers etc. But over all a GREAT find and runs & handles like new. He has all the original paper work, bill of sale, original shipping papers from Chrysler to dealer in WV, etc. I'll borrow this paper work sometime and makes copies for the group. The camper shell that was on it, will be coming home with me in a few weeks, I'm going to put in on my 71 CS. I'll register it with the group later, since owner is not on the internet personally.
Here are some of the photos I took yesterday!

Re: 70 in Excellent Condition
So does this mean he has the build sheet? I was wondering if the bumper guards on the front were an option or a dealer add on. I've seen less than 10 Sweptlines with them. I thought maybe the build sheet would have some info on them.NOLLIE wrote: He has all the original paper work,

Didn't pay real close attention to the paper work, but the sheets from factory that I saw listed all options, giving the Dodge factory number and description, was 2 pages long. I'll get copies and post in a few weeks.soopernaut wrote:So does this mean he has the build sheet? I was wondering if the bumper guards on the front were an option or a dealer add on.
