Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
I was bored so i checked out the movie "Men who stare at goats". Not really my type of flick, but it was entertaining.

I saw this one. It was a beautiful truck. I started getting all excited, and my wife was just shaking her head.wally426ci wrote:I'm watching an episode of "Bones" where they investigate the main characters parents who dissapeared and they rode out to a farm where there was a 65.5-67 Baby blue, white top, small back window, light duty bumpered D100!!

Watching "The Last Detail" with Jack Nicholson the other day and saw what looked like a '66 D100 in the 8th minute. Not Jack's best film but worth seeing the first 8 minutes just for a look at another Swepty.

What was the name of the eipsode, or what was the air date? I'd like to check it out, I must have missed that one.wally426ci wrote:I'm watching an episode of "Bones" where they investigate the main characters parents who dissapeared and they rode out to a farm where there was a 65.5-67 Baby blue, white top, small back window, light duty bumpered D100!!

Watching the Original V The Series tonight. In The Champion there was a dark brown 69-71 Sweptline. Missing the grille and tailgate and beat up but fun to see!

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
Yip I just saw that one the other night also. V is one of my favorite old series!
It is a 69, the grill is gone, but the turn signals are still in place.
Oddly, my wife picked up on the crew in Overboard and Christmas Vacation
being the same, before I did. Of course she watches both of those movies
way more than I do!

The last few minutes in the remake of The Getaway , is my favourite Swepty
appearance
Where they buy an about 62 Crew cab from the old guy and enter Mexico.
Nice sound of the v8 as it passes the border post
, old guy remarking what a good old
truck it is, with a recent oil change or something.(he also played the Sheriff in
Misery)
Not a bad movie to see, with lots of action, interesting characters, and very sexy
Kim Basinger

In the movie American Gangster w/Denzil Washington there is a Sweptline that drives by in the back ground. Its the scene where he is in the cafe after he moved his family to his city. they are drinking morning coffe and a blue sweptline drives by. i even rewinded it just to make sure.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
The movie "The Glory Stompers" has a 4 headlight truck sitting on the side of the road in one scene. The funny thing is this movie contains very few cars/trucks, even in the background, but is 98% motorcycles.
Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
Watched a good movie the other night called "Thunderheart" with Val Kilmer. it was filmed in the badlands of n. dakota. There was a really nice crew parked in a field at the old indian's place. looked to be a 68 and was in damn nice shape for an abandoned truck. good flick too!!

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
HBO has a series on right now called "True Blood" (vampires - meh). Anyway, the plotline is located down rural Louisiana, so there are lots of interesting country folk.
Last week they introduced a new character, "Crystal" and I'll be darned - she drives a Sweptie!
She may be ignorant and slighly in-bred, but the girl has good taste in trucks.

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs
I saw the very first episode of The A-Team last night. Within the first 5 minutes there was a guy being chased while driving a 69-71 multi-colored D100. It had no doors on it and no grille either. Unfortunately the episode is continued tonight and I'll miss half of it so I won't get to see if the truck appears in any other scenes.
There was no A-Team van. B.A. first drove a Studebaker Lark convertible and then he switched to a 68 Impala convertible. Also the guy who played Face was an imposter. I didn't know Dirk Benedict wasn't there from the beginning.
I also saw 2 large sweptlines in the movie The Last American Hero. It is a movie with a lot of stock car racing from the early 70s.
