I have a 68 D100 with a healthy 360 and the 435 tranny. It has a 3.91 rear end and just runs out of legs and revs too high on the highways. I am looking at changing to a 3.23 rear end. I have been told that's the go.
Any feedback would be appreciated

Re: 3.23 rear end swap
what i would suggest is ditch the old np435 and find a a-833 od. but my guess is you probably dont want to do that, as their is some modification. 3.23 would definatly be a better gear with your setup.

I have a 66 d-100 with a very healthy 360 and np 435. It has the gear set you are looking to switch in. My truck will go a lot faster than I can handle.

Re: 3.23 rear end swap
I swapped in a 2.94 gear ratio in my truck with the NP435, at 65 miles per hour my engine's rpm is about 2300. I feel like I should have swapped in 2.73's, hope this is helpful.
