I am even gonna send that carb a bit earlier than I thought.
Heck I actually went out the storage and picked up the box for it today.
Your getting transferred from sunny warm Dixieland to the armpit of the continental USA? I made the trip out here from the Memphis area in October 2001. I was born and raised in western Washington (I have gills, and don't tan, I rust). Can't wait to get back to some place civilized in a month and a half or so. The eastside of the state is better than the Puget Sound Basin though.
Not much to do in eastern Washington unless you are a hardcore outdoorsman. Killer nude beaches along the Columbia River near Vantage and George, you can listen to all the concerts at the Gorge Amphitheater for free, upriver from the radioactive mess, just watch out for the contact high. Pot grows wild along the river, and the hippy kids know it. The fishing isn't bad, but it is very expensive, and the catching part leaves something to be desired.
You can't hike past a good sized boulder out here without finding a dead pickup. All kinds. Like Hudsons? There are three within 5 miles of my house. Sweptlines by the hundreds, Advance Design Chebbies by the thousands. Found one in Orondo for $400. Found a 56 Chevy whatever the goofy fiberglass sided truck was called for next to nothing. Eastside trucks are decent, west side trucks tend to be rusted out heaps.
Word to the wise, avoid Seattle like the plague. Unless you just really love steal steal and squander PC nanny state panderers. You won't miss anything interesting, Pikes Place Market is over-rated, Seattle center and Experience Music Project are nothing but junkie hang-outs, and Pioneer Square is full of drunken bums.
And if you can avoid "Ft.Screw This-McTard" (Joint Base Lewis McChord), do so.
Good luck. My Sweptline and other toys, and my wife and her menagerie are going back to TN. Washington is just the northen most county in Southern California anymore...
