My transmission mount won't be here until Thursday, so painting has kept me busy. I can't build the crossmember for the trans until I get the trans mount installed. Once that is all in, the build should go alot faster.

I am going to leave the truck in flat black for the foreseeable future. It is exciting to see it start to resemble the image I've had for it in my mind's eye for so long.

Don't feel bad, I was thinking exactly the same thing . I lived in Belleville for a year. Hopefully I can meet up with some of you Ontarians when I've gotten my truck licensed.

I am missing a couple of trim items from my 71. I know a guy who has some, I just need to convince him that I need them worse than he does! :)

I took the '71 for a drive on Saturday. It was still about -10 degrees Celsius outside, but the truck started good after some throttle pumping.

It even backed out through some deeper snow without getting stuck. Who says BF Goodrich T/A's suck in the snow?

I didn't go too far, only to the transfer station to drop off some garbage, but it did feel good to be behind the wheel of a Swepty again.

The inside of the '67 was just nasty. I did have to spend a long time cleaning seat foam off me when I got in here.

I am pondering what to do with my interior color at the moment. Flat black would be easier, but I really like the inferno red color on my Neon and my wife's Journey. It would go with the color scheme I am planning for the seat and the five year plan for the exterior.

My break is over and I need to get back to work, dang it!

It was a few degrees above zero Celsius today, so I fired up the 71 and drove it to work. It was really nice to get a Sweptline fix in February. The balmy weather is supposed to be short lived, so it was fun while it lasted.

I did a few minor repairs on it after work.I replaced the signal flasher, installed the horn, replaced a blown fuse in the stereo and installed the passenger side door weatherstripping. The drivers side weatherstripping needs replacing as well, but I need to get some more weatherstripping glue. Even doing the passenger side gave me a fighting chance at hearing the stereo at highway speeds.

I am looking forward to spring. I am tired of cold weather.

I did some work on my '71 today. It was just basic maintenance, but any work on my trucks is newsworthy lately.

I am getting it ready to pull my tent trailer for my family's camping trip on the 11th.

I didn't do anything fancy, but replaced both radiator hoses, the bypass and heater hoses. All were weathered and in bad shape. I am glad I changed them when I did, as the bypass hose ripped open without much pressure on it. The rad cap came apart in my hand, so it got replaced too.

I had to flush the radiator for quite a while, as the old coolant was really nasty and rusty.

I changed the oil and replaced the fuel filter, so it should be good to go.

Tomorrow's task is wiring a trailer plug and installing a small receiver hitch on the bumper so I can hook the trailer safety chains on.

Working on my trucks has always been really relaxing, so I was glad to get more Sweptline therapy!

Us Canadian Sweptline guys are far and few between. I have had my sweptline project for just about 4 years now and am nearly done repairing the cab.

I was thinking it might be a good idea to find as many of the Canadian members for part swap etc. If anyone is interested, maybe we can start a Canadian registry here on Sweptline.org??

I am in Eastern Ontario in Smiths Falls.
