Work vs. play

Post by demulsion »

We see lots of pictures of trucks at car shows, on the cruise, looking pretty, etc. But how many guys use their Sweptline for what it was built to do? Lets see some pictures of these trucks hard at work.

Okay, I'll come clean. I don't even have a 5th wheel receiver... I lived in that trailer for a year at my last job, and couldn't resist taking that picture! It was an insanely heavy trailer (complete fiberglass ext., all Oak cabinets, Corian counters, tile in the kit/bath...).

Funny how two of those trucks are beautifully restored, too! I love the pics. Robin, that '65 is a slant six truck too, no?

Here is my most common load:

And other more appropriately sized loads:

I can't seem to find the pic with the full pallet of cement bags, with a mixer in tow. That squatted it quite nicely...

1& 2 taken last year in the search for a Cristmas tree.
3 was 4th of July after winning best 4x4 at the local show, it won but is far cry from a show truck.

Cool pictures guys, thanks for sharing!

This is what I love about old trucks. Bought a 'new' truck last weekend, and 3 days later loaded over 2,000lbs of scrap in the back. Didn't have to worry about how it would handle the load, or about scratching the nice paint.

Seems, I only have pictures of dumb stuff I have done. My truck does work everytime I drive it, so I guess only the oddballs get a picture.

this was sketchy, shorty on the trailer, flat towed 4 door behind that, posi, no caster in the front wheels, it pushed me whereever it wanted to, 140 miles at 35, lol, but I did get it home.

Image

Out to PA, picked up these two cars and drove back, didnt sleep the whole trip, did it nonstop, lol. 85mph out, 60 tops back. neither car had a motor.

Image

doin some horse tradin.

here is a bad night at the track with my little brothers car.
