69 D100 backyard find

Post by paffuffnic »

Found this in a back yard in Highland, CA. No dents, no rust, 440-727. runs, on non-op and only $800. Put on new tires, got it registered and drove it to the nearest quik lube and had the oil changed. How do I put in pictures????

Under your post area (where you type) you'll see the tab that says 'upload attachment'. You can find your picture file there using the brouse button. Remember that if these are with a digital camera, you might have to resize the picture, using the edit feature. If you use web page size, they seem to come out ok. If not the file may be too large to send to this forum. We look forward to seing your find! :welcome

Webshots is pop-up central, i personally don't like it. You guys just need to resize your images.

Here are the images he sent me. I had no issue uploading them, resizing was not needed.

nice looking truck. be worth it to bend the front bumper straight on that one.

whats going on in the reverse light area? something looks odd there, like the lites have been moved, replaced with something else, and stickers added? hard for me to tell.

I recognize one sticker as a "Good Sam Club" decal.

Very nice truck!

This guy wanted everyone to know he was in the good sam club. 5 (count them) stickers on back of truck, and rear window. The front bumber is the only real issue with the body. Truck runs good, have had it on the road around town, will update with new pics when can. Now has powder coated wheels with baby moons, khumo tires on all 4 corners. Bruce

Another thing about this truck, it has never had a radio in it. blank is in dash, and no antenna hole in body. I want to find some small post mirrors for it too. Already got rid of the bed rails. Bruce

By the way, thanks for the :welcome . This is not my first sweptline, or Dodge. I had a 51 stepside in which I put a late 318, cast iron t/flite, highway patrol rear end. Thing hauled. then I had a 64 D100 sweptline, 318 poly, then 273 hypo, then 318la, A745, then 727 (Had this one for 13 years). Then I had a 92 D50, econo truck necessary at the time, traded it in on a 92 Dakota, 3.9 5speed, flowmaster, hypo computor. When I wore that out (completely), bought a 2001 Dakota quad cab, 4.7 (K n' N air intake, flowmaster, 5speed auto, ghost flames on hood and fenders, and lowered 3" front and back). Fun truck, but missed the cruises downtown, limited to 74 and older, so went on the hunt. 6 months later I found my 69. I spent 35 years working in dealership parts, mostly Mopar. Bruce :salut

Just got my new old truck home yesterday, drove it down from Hesperia (about 40 miles). Ran great, no overheating, guages all work except speedo. Now that ait is home I can get all systems going. Turn signals don't work, nor headlights, etc, but now I have plenty of time to work on it. 375 horse 440 pulled away from everything I was next to yesterday, much to some of them's suprise. Its fun to work on, no metric. :usa Bruce

To Henry in Riverside, there are some small cruises in the inland empire, downtown Clairmont, many Burgertowns have them, and every Saturday morning, a little get together on Hamner Ave in Norco, next to Yum-Yum Donuts, below 5th street. Bruce

Well, since I got her home, progress is being made. I took a clay bar to the paint, and altho its not show quality, it will get me by 'till I can paint it. Took off that 200 lb bumper, truck gained an inch in height. Took off the huge "west coast camper mirrors", put on small 4 1/2" mirror. Powder coated the grille, still looking for one amber turn signal lens for front (found one new one). By the way, I have a friend who works at G and G Mopars, in Colton, CA if anyone is looking for parts, new and used. You can reach him (Bob) at 909 825-1231 Mon, Tues and Wed. He was a Mopar parts man for 40 years, has a lot of old books and knows how to use them. My computor will still not send pic's, says they are too big, so I will see if hellbelly will send the for me. Juss got back from muffler shop, 2 new dyna-max and real tailpipes with no holes except at the end. Sounds sweet. Runs better too. 440 purrs now, but growls on acceleration. Steering gear box is next to get some attention (manual steer). Then disc for the front. My computor still says file too big when I try to send pic's.
