Found an L series tractor I want
Looking online I found this ad:
http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/1221186983.html
I think it is a 1960 or 61 , 5th wheel 318 runs but has been sitting over 10 yrs needs brake work, cab flips up pretty cool rig 208-634-1522 you will have to come look at it. Location: McCall Idaho. $500.00
Ok, so now the big debate begins. Sleep in the house with the wife,.. or in the cab of that truck after I bring it home.
Seriously though, if someone here wants it, I'll help where I can.

According to wikipedia...the L Series went from 1966 to 1971.

These trucks are so rare today...I am not sure I have seen one in person...good luck...but you have to restore it and bring it to the Colorado Cruise

Re: Found an L series tractor I want
speaking of the l series, i am building a light duty truck with a shortened a108 body, a cummins 6bt (1st gen), and tandem rearends
i am also giving it a 4x4 front axle to make the front and 2nd axle powered, i would like to have the rear axle powered, but i don't want a heavy duty axles and i can't find a device like the ones that usa6x6 was making
oh and that is to scale with about 35" tires

Re: Found an L series tractor I want
it just so happens I have a pic of an L series truck built to haul a gooseneck. It lives northeast of Weiser, Idaho. It seems pic posting is broke under Blazer (palmos), or I'd post it. That tandem A body is a cool idea... but why not two steering drive axles at the front? search youtube for truck trial vranov, and check out the mean 6 and 8 wheel drive cabovers. There are several design ideas you could appropriate, like the roll cage or the bed/battering ram.
Re: Found an L series tractor I want
Let's see if this post works. There should be two pics of the L in Weiser. The owner's name is Gary Sh*tman, and a friend of mine was going to buy it for $1200. If i remember it has a 361 industrial in it.
