my new 63

Post by 62dodgedog »

Here is my new '63. It is a 225 slant six with the four speed, long wheel base, small window. The floor boards and bottom of the rockers are rusted through, other then surface rust that is about it. The beauty is it is practically unmolested. Must have had a camper at one point in time because the bed is pretty flat with almost no roll to it. Original three hole mirror is still there which is surprising considering it has the trailer mirrors on it also.had to trailer it home would not start and was told the clutch would not work. Got it to start by putting a battery in it and it fired up first try. Will not hold an idle and dies when revved so I am having the carb rebuilt. The guy rebuilding the carb also told me the gas smelt bad so I siphoned the gas and it was a light yellow in color. That is about it for now will do updates.

Looks pretty straight. I had the rusty floorboards and stinky gas, too. At least I got rid of the gas...
