Man I am really jealous of the condition. Gotta love those AZ trucks no rust and by the way I have the same windoe crank on the driver's side

yep,
i can see a scotty behind that truck of yours, with or without the camper shell. Has that truck got the original paint on it? From the front view, the paint shines and those chrome bumpers glare like new.
absolutely fantastic,

The chrome is in awesome condition along with the trim pieces but the paint is not OG. It has one of those 50 feet at 50 mph paint jobs. It does have some rust at the bottom of the doors and a thick bondo spot on the roof of the cab. The original color looks to be the same as the repaint. Other than that I don't see any other issues with the body.

I just destroyed a topper very similar to that one. Most of the lower wood was rotted out anyway.
Looks like a very nice truck. You mention it was originally the same color and that isn't a very common color. Side trim on 4 headlight trucks and bucket seats aren't common either if they are original.

Do you guys think this is a CSS truck? I was reading about the CSS and HPP versions on a website. I guess I just need to wait to get this truck home so I can decode the VIN.

CSS..... check the driver's side door jam [below the VIN tag] for a SERT Tag.

That Gear Vendors unit is one sweet unit. I live not to far from their Headquarters in EL Cajon. But damn.. The price is healthy at over 2800 bucks.MOPAT wrote:There is an outfit called; gearvendors that makes an overdrive unit for the 727.
It is an add on, and requires shortening the driveshaft (at the least), I think the trans mount has to be moved also but I'm not sure about that.
I seem to recall it runs about $2000.oo

Sir
Your rear bumper was from a Dealer and is called
" an Dealer installed option". When your truck
was new, those mirrors were not what most
wanted on their truck. Now every one with no
trailer to pull wants them ( until they start
pulling a trailer ). Your 70's/80's car wheel cover's
are just that.
Please do not take this wrong, for I think the pkg
is put together with taste.
The 1988 to 1991 Dodge Truck-Van or RamCharger
A-518 Transmission has the same gear ratio's
as you have and with a Over-Drive. Slow down
and you can find one for under $150.00 .
You get to keep the correct sized of tire diameter
and the rear axle ratio is untouched.

I forgot to ask on the CB. Is it an era 23 Channel
or a newer series 40 Channel ? When you get a
vintage RV Trailer, you will finf out they use the CB.

Thanks so much for all the info you shared with me. I'm not sure about the CB radio but I can check on that when I get the truck back from AZ. The original box and instruction manual are still in the truck. My dad was searching thur the truck yesterday and found the original owners manual and receipts dating back to the early seventys. There was even a receipt for the air conditioning installation. My dad also bought me the dodge service manual for my truck. Pretty cool.

That is SO cool you even have the original box and instructions! AND the original Owners Manual. Yes, I realize you can buy one at a car show swap meet, but the ORIGINAL one is very cool! (Even though there isn't any way to tell them apart) I have the original owners manual for my 56 DeSoto, and it has little notes and writing on it. Makes it special.ZAR wrote:Rodger

I finally got her home today! Let the wrenching begin. I tried to get her in my garage but the campershell is too tall. I am going to give the campershell away for free to anyone on this site that can use it on their swepty. You can see a picture of it a few posts up.

I was headed to the river in Yuma and saw you going the other way right right before the car stuck on the side of the road before the USBP checkpoint. I thought it was a cool coincidence.
Re: New Sweptline Owner in So. Cal

Yeah, I hear it's even hot over there in the SD area. No fun when most people don't have AC in their houses.
Did you just rent the truck/trailer to haul it or what?
