I'd like to have that stock light duty rear bumper.
It might not be so bad if you set it back on some truck tires
and sprayed it a nice color. In a way, it reminds me of the
2wd Ramchargers & Trail Dusters. Put a soft top on it and
you just might have something there.

WOW!.....and I'll bet that he doesn't even realize that he could do away with the vent windows since he has suicide doors ! hahahahahahaha! ( you'd have to read my post in the body-trim section to appreciate the humor in that)
That last picture looks like the studs for the trim were left in place on the front fender.
Maybe they knew it was so hideous that they plan on undoing it??

Those "Candy Cars" are rediculous. They're all over the south.
I'll go with what Hobcobble says, looks like a Ramcharger, add some original metallic green paint with a white or black canvas top, with a set of chrome Lil ' Red 15 x 8 slots all the way around with some Desert Dueller tires mounted and you'd have something worth looking at then. Maybe even a stock 72 H.P. 400 with fenderwell headers reaching back to some old chrome 70's style side pipes. yeah ! naww .
Oh yeah, you'd have to have the sideways swinging tailgate with the chrome square military gas tank and a spare Lil' Red wheel mounted back there too !
But seriously, we need to start up a commando group that rescues Sweptlines in that position. Kind of like the folks who would deprogram Moonies back in the seventies/eighties.
I'm certain that all of that was done against the truck's will.
A terrible thing.

i just dont get that DONK thing! why would someone knowingly do that hideous sh!t to a vehicle, ANY vehicle not just a sweptline!!! it just looks corny, anything over about a 20 just throws the whole look into, just dumb!! i mean if ya gotta lift the damn thing just to fit the wheels under it, THE WHEELS ARE TOO BIG!!!

Man, don't get me started again ! We already had one post about donks. You talk about the south being full of cars sportin' the candy logos. Well I've even seen one or two here locally that was painted red with yellow trimming and a McDonalds logo on the side ! And another had Wendy's on it. You know they're not getting paid for that either. Guess they're just proud of their employer, huh ?

a)OK..... I'm a little out of it here so.... help me out with DONK.... what is it?
b)Some like 'em this way..... they'd probably laugh at us "Low Guys" or us "Stock Guys"....
c)Someone mentioned "Candy Cars". I live in/near a relatively big city [Buffalo, NY] and
haven't seen or heard of them. I'm not digging the concept too much but to each their
own...

A. DONK is short for donkey. These vehicles were typically made using Impalas back in the day. Apparently the Impala logo looks like a donkey.
B. We are all different and have different tastes. Although they may look silly to some, the people who built them are "car people". I'd rather see this than all the boring cars I see 99% of the time driving around on the streets here. I did see a Pink and Blue Caprice Donk the other day. If the government has their way we will all be driving the boring cars.
C. I've never seen the logos either. It must be a southern thing but it could spread to other areas of the country once people start seeing them in the media.
I live in a city of 30k people In N IL and there is a skittles car, newport (ciggs), recess pieces, on other i cant think of. Why would you do free advertising I dont know but it is theres and guess they can do what they want with them. Personally I dont like them and you would never see me drive one. To each is their own.
