Met with a fellow sweptliner Jason from Riverside, I forget what username he goes by, I am bad about these things, but, he gave me a call, as he was going to be in my hometown, and so I caught up with him and his awesome Camper special, and a couple of his friends, also got to see his 68 crewcab, very cool, Jason was nice enough to let me take her for a spin in all of her glory, she is a big block truck in super original shape and absolutely clean as can be, it is a 4 speed longbed 3/4 ton and although it took me a few shifts to get used to the really high clutch pedal, I managed not to kill the engine and embarrass myself, he was very cool about showing me all of the bells and whistles, including AC, factory radio, all original engine bay, and the really cool simulated vinyl top, I was able to contribute and showed him that he had a removeable tailgate, as I just seen one on here last week. Very cool and interesting afternoon here in Bakersfield, hopefully he will see this and reply so I can figure out his user name so I can thank him in a pm.
thanks
Kent

He caught me in the middle of doing bodywork on my swepty, so, I show up with sanding dust all over me, dirty look like ive been sleeping under the bridge, and, I left the house in such a hurry I forgot my Camera, he is supposed to be up next weekend again, If I can catch him I will take some pics and post them now that I have a pc that is compatable with my digital camera. By the way, Jason, and his friends Tony and Jim were very cool, and Jim is a car guy so we met at his house, and they gave me the grand tour of Jims classic ford collection including some super clean edsels, and mercs, and a bad @#% early 70's polara highway patrol car with all the original equipment including a big deep breathing 440 magnum, of course with AC. BUT, Jasons 71 swepty and 68 crewcab were the highlight for me. Although I have always wanted a classic 59 Edsel wagon painted two tone cheeze whiz and tan with big 20's on airbags
