Re: Got an extra eight grand?
That truck bid up to around $16K last time it was up on the egay. No sale then. Very nice rig...and I like the wheels and the camper shell! In today's market, I'd think it would be worth closer to $10K vs. $18K.
Selling a Swepty for ANY price is a PITA.

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
Are those gauges even original?
Nice ride but $18,000 I dont think so especially lacking numbers match motor. I could see $8000 - to $10000.

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
Yeah, I thought I recognized the truck as being an epay item not long ago. If it bid to anything over $10k last time and he didn't take it, he's an IDIOT! We all know that the Swepts are the most overlooked and underappreciated era for Dodge trucks. So to think he's gonna hold out for a person with a ton of cash to fall in love with it is just not a wise bet. If it were a Chebby or a Ferd you might be able to successfully play that game. Unfortunately, with a Swept, you gotta take the best you can get and run, or hold onto your cards (so to speak). This guy has been watching too much B/J on Speed Channel.
Note: This is in no way meant to sound like I don't like the truck or think it's not worth alot of money. It's obviously a great truck, and should go for an above average price. In fact, I hope that my Swepts will look that good when I get done with them. It just gets my feathers ruffled when a guy tries to get a Panoz price for a Pinto,... know what I mean?

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
Yeah, not to offend anybody, but the reason I got into swepts is because they are CHEAPER. He has his work cut out for him. I couldn't even afford the starting bid, let alone over double that.
What a mess.

Nice unit.... and original. You couldn't buy and build one to that level for $18000.00.

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
Oh yes you could. Look at how many rust free trucks have gone super cheap, on here or craigslist. Start with a solid body, and the rest is cake, there is nothing to these trucks. Do all the work yourself, under 18k easy.bluefury wrote:yeah right. 8grand will not buy it. he thinks its worth 18 grand.

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
I'm not saying I didn"t like the truck. i most certainly do. I paid way less than his starting bid for my 70 and it is just about as nice. Thats why I am like some of use here as to why to collect sweptlines. They are relatively cheaper to purchase and I think they look cool. And the reason I also collect Rambler's: another under appreciated car which is inexpensive to own. Yeah, these crazy people on B/J are making it very hard for normal people to own collector vehicles unless your rich$$. I remember when you could buy a muscle car for next to nothing. lol.

Re: Got an extra eight grand?
I paid less than $5000 for my 1970 D-100 just as you see it (*) in this photo. That includes airfare and driving it 600 miles to get it back home.65indypacecar wrote:I'm not saying I didn"t like the truck. i most certainly do. * I did put the factory wheels, hubcaps and new tires on it after I bought it, for less than $250.
