Well, I finally got the old girl going. Got the brakes all rebuilt and the engine running good. Took her for the first test ride, and you absolutely have to REV the gas while in gear to get the vehicle to move. The brakes aren't sticking, and the differential seems fine, so I'm guessing transmission at some point. Is it the torque converter or the clutch in the tranny?
It's a 1971 Dodge D100 with a 318. Runs great. But for some reason it's just not 'engaging' to the rear wheels correctly.
Thoughts?

Trans fluid full. That will do it. And your sure the brakes are not dragging.

Double check your transmission fluid. Warm it up, shift it into each gear, with a solid pause in between, from P to 1 and back to P. Odds are, your 727 has just enough fluid in it to fly in reverse and just barely move in any forward gear. Been there... use Dexron Mercon 2, not 3, you can buy it at Walmart. DO NOT use Type A Universal, that is for later model Mopar automatics and a bunch of Japanese stuff.
I run 1 quart of Type F and the rest is DM 2 or DM 3. Dexron 6 is really bad news, so pay close attention to the labels when you buy your ATF. Type F "can" cause issues, but since B&M Trick Shift is nothing more than relabeled Type F...

This is common in Mopar automatics - what happens is that when you first start the car/truck, and then put it in Drive or Reverse, it won't move, or moves very slowly. Assuming your fluid levels are correct, you need to let the truck warm up in Neutral for about ten seconds to get the fluid pumping. Then, you'll be able to go just fine.
I've had this occur on nearly every RWD TorqueFlite-equipped Mopar I've ever owned, which is nearly three hundred, over the years.
