Big block engine mount pic?

Post by wayneswirld2 »

Seems the mounts I removed from the boneyard truck, that had a 400 in it, won't bolt up to my 1962 413. I'm unsure of the year of the 400 that was in the donor, but I thought that all the big block mounts were the same. Anyone have a pic of the big block mounts?

Here is a BB mount bracket on a '61-early '65
style insulator.

Yeah, see John's picture. I wasn't thinking about the year difference. Mine is of '68.

Looks like I have the wrong ones then. Couple of things about mine, the bottom hole doesn't line up, and it looks as though mine would bring the block further forward about 1/2" or so. Dunno if that half inch would really matter, but the bottom hole not lining up would be a problem with a stout motor in the truck.

Anyone have big block mounts for sale?

My engine/trans combo seems to sit forward related to my trans mount but not to the engine mounts. I've still never figured out exactly what is going on. I need to sort that out soon.

The ones listed at the 440source site certainly are cheap enough, aren't they? Looks like I'll be askin' Slanta Clause for a pair...
