On hurricane recovery alert...

Post by WD »

I'm a heavy haul driver. With a tree service/disaster recovery company. Boss called and told me to be ready to roll for Long Island NY Monday morning if the storm packs any kind of real punch. One small (60 cubic yard self loader) truck was supposed to head to Delaware today with our lead cutter/feller, a crew leader rolled for New Hampshire Friday afternoon.

A piddly category 1 might wash the streets clean. A category 2 might knock over a few garbage cans and break a few windows. I rode out a cat 2 on the beach back in 98 or 99, raccoons were in the front yard persimmon tree the whole time.

Oh well, storm pay and the chance to maybe see family I haven't seen for over 20 years.

You guys batten down the hatches if you are in its projected path. I'll be the guy rolling through with the metallic burgundy Pete 379 long nose day cab pulling a lowboy if it is worth deploying over.
