I've been fighting with installing a PTO on my NP420, and can't get any definitive answers. The books say that the PTO drive gears on a 420 are helical, which doesn't really jive with the age of the trans. I've heard people say that they've installed a PTO and had it lock their gear box up...
I've posed a thread with pics of the stuff I'm looking to install in the Power Wagon forum, and just got some pics up. I'm looking to see if we have a major PTO genius somewhere that can really tell me something. I need a second PTO to run a second winch.
anyone know for sure if the 420 has straight or helical PTO drive gears? Anybody a major genius when it comes to PTOs?
