Thought it would be fun...

Post by Motorhead »

...to show you guys some pictures from some typical carmeetings here in Sweden.
As you can see the state of the cars varies a bit.
Most of the pictures I "stole" on different websights (hope the owners don`t mind)
My english may be a little bit rusty :study

It is! I would say it is the largest hobby in the country, or it`s more than a hobby, it`s a culture, a way of living to drive, restore, build, race and burn rubber whit these cars. Outside the US we probably have the highest quantity of old classic american cars, in a country whit only 9 million people.

One of the downsides of living on this part of the world is the gasprice! I don`t know how high the price is "over there"? But I bet it`s the dubble here, we pay nearly 14 swedish crowns per liter, thats about 2 dollars, and a gallon is 3,785 liter right? So that will be 7.50 dollars for a gallon.
On the other hand parts are relatively easy to find, even to the older models. Insurance for these cars quit cheap, compered to newer cars.

Looks like the cruise scene is big in Sweden. Hey, way back in the 80's, my sister had a friend that was an exchange student from Sweden. I can't remember her name but I remember she was really pretty and she told me her brother was in a Metal band called Syron Vanes, in fact he mailed us a copy of their album. Wow, that was like aeons ago.

Great pics! That trailer with the '58 Olds is fantastic. One question though; Is the beautiful blonde with the beautiful bum hanging out of the Caddy
giving me the peace sign or the bird?

they do stuff like that in the United States too. I know there is a place in Wisconsin where people bring out all kinds of old cars in the winter and race.

My friend in Phoenix sold his '75 Buick convt. to a guy in Sweden, so I know it's alot harder to restore cars over there. We respect your efforts and dedication. Thanks for posting the pics.
