I searched this and about went blind reading all the posts. Some of them conflicted each other within the same thread.
So did CPP ever make the kit or not? I went to their site and could not find anything. If they did make it, who used it and what were your thoughts on it?
I would like to add power steering to my truck because backing up to a trailer is torture.

Yes they make one but, you have to call. They sell the steering box and you get the common stuff. I have one on my 64 with a /6 and it works great. I have the power assist on my 70 D200 (But it is a 383) and it doesn't turn as easy as the CPP.
I'm actually liking the manual steering - I've gotten used to not moving the steering at a standstill and it's fairly easy to turn (if not overly vague) otherwise. I just wish I had a faster ratio. As others have posted here, having a 20:1 option would be much improved. OK, maybe the steering isn't that great... ha
I bought one of these kits for my 70 w200 383 ,you have to call to get it not on the website. i read a lot on this forum first. had to get pump at store locally , order pump brackets online , it uses Toyota lines or that's what the box said, all in all I like it .like some of the others I cant turn wheel at dead stop ,but I couldn't with the manual box anyway with 36's
I'm interested to know whether you updated your caster when you installed the power steering.
For me, there are only two benefits over what I have now: a faster steering ratio and increased caster for improved directional control. Good example I had today, I had to back-and-forth 4 times to get out of a spot at the local Top Notch burger stand. On the positive side, it gave all the other MoPar guys a good chuckle as they watched me fighting the steering.
I fixed the caster when I put lift springs on the truck flipping the springs around gave me what I needed. of course now that im changing axles again ill have to recheck it .the faster ratio defiantly helped
After king pins, new bushings (spring and sway) then yet another alignment I'm go to go. Steering at stand still is about 90% corrected everything else about the steering is spot on. Just put 2000 plus miles cross country trip with no problem and no excess tire wear. I installed the CPP kit June of 2015 I think it was the 3 or four kit they put together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pdQ79OxUFc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su8J-ddN-_4
