`58 Power Wagon/ Giant fire up
https://goo.gl/photos/gWjUJVEjiWj5yksy9
I recently picked up a `58 W-200 I have wanted for a while now, it has been sitting due mechanical issues for a long time before I got it. The original owner put a `57 New Yorker 392 Hemi it to replace the 315 I believe was stock. It turned over nice so I oiled the cylinders and went look down in carburetor to see if free and wasps had made a nest in there so I removed it and found a little dirt in intake so removed that and cleaned it out best I could and reassembled with a good oldie carburetor I had off a Poly. After that I found starter armature was broken off, so located a NOS one and put it back on. Filed the points and a fresh battery and fuel and it fired right up with 60 psi on the oil. The whole truck has allot of patina so I am going to leave it like it is.
I hope the vid attached works if you click full screen sound works.

Re: `58 Power Wagon/ Giant fire up
Sounds like a cool old ride. I might be inclined to run something down carb while its running or add to gas to make sure rings are not stuck. Baby it for awhile and treat like a new motor. If your lucky it wont start smoking from bad rings. Good Luck.
My truck is younger than me.

Why you changed the engine in first place?

I just saw your question, the Hemi was installed by original owner along time ago before I bought it.davidgraham wrote:Hi there,

You have to love a 392 Hemi! That's what I'm putting in my 31 Plymouth. Do you have any pics of it?

Re: `58 Power Wagon/ Giant fire up
Love it. Especially when the previous owner upgrades the engine. Mine had a 313 originally. Previous company put in a truck 361. Sat for 30 years. I did the same things you did. Started right up. Exhaust color was every color in the rainbow. I took it easy on the engine. You have a great truck. I'm also leaving the patina. It only looks crappy/beautiful once. Just doing the mechanicals.
