Hello all!
Just took delivery of my (new to me) 1969 W100 383 4-speed. It is equipped with the travel tanks that I believe were offered from the dealer when new? (I'm sure someone knows a lot more about them than I do!). Anyway, there are two switches for the fuel tanks, one located under the seat, and the other located on the dash. I assume that the cab mounted tank is "center" and drivers side is left, passenger is right. Can anyone with these tanks provide me with some incite into them?
Pics as soon as I get it cleaned up a bit, it just got in from a 2,400 mile road trip on the back of a flatbed!
Thanks!
Dan

Re: Travel Fuel Tanks
It is a valve on the floor, not a switch. Follow the lines that are connected to it to figure out where they go.

I sold all of my sweptline trucks, except the invisible one. I just couldn't stand to see it go!

Re: Travel Fuel Tanks
The original valve was cable operated from a knob on the dash, this is a Mopar part.

The switch on the dash was only for the gauge

My tanks filled through the wheel well, obvious problems with this.

(These were not hooked up)
The floor selector was probably added when the cable broke.

Hello Dan,
That is the same set up I have in my '70 W-200.
In my truck, the center position on the floor valve = the tank behind the seat + left and right positions = left and right saddle tanks.
The switch on my dash is connected to the fuel gauge with the same positioning. Center position = center tank - left and right = left and right tanks.
BTW - I installed new stainless braded fuel lines and ditched the original aluminum access doors for newer flush style.
