Re: bellhousing mounts.
don't have pics on hand but the clutch and flywheel had to be removed thru the inspection plate to get to the three bolts inside holding the bellhousing to the sland six!!!! I'm not finding the bell housing transmission rubber mounts anywhere for sale online .

Re: bellhousing mounts.
I think the are technically called bellhousing isolaters
Re: bellhousing mounts.
They are an insulator. One big stud for the bell side and twovrod02 wrote:I think the are technically called bellhousing isolaters
holes to bolt it to the bell housing cross member. As noted
above, Imperial Services has these for sale. You might be
able to find some decent used ones.... but definitely check
the rubber for cracks.

Re: bellhousing mounts.
Now the truth comes out. Sounds like the typical bell housing mounts used on Hydraulic Bell housings.

Re: bellhousing mounts.
Nothing Imperial Services shows looks like the mounts I have (65 W500). Were the ones for big trucks different?

Re: bellhousing mounts.
I traded the owner a set of big stud on both sides for a set of regular hydo bell mounts a few years back. At the time he was interested in making those, he has since gotten into making molded restoration electrical connections. You could call and see if he is going/willing to make them. it may take a while to get them.

Re: bellhousing mounts.
I may be looking for same mount/insulator - - - two holes on plate attach to B.H. cross-member? - - - then single large stud into B.H.? I do not have the B.H. at my arm's reach so only going by what others have posted. I know there are two of these 'insulators' as I can see the holes in the cross-member. Any Update as to where I can get one of these? I tried on-line as well as my Napa (which can get me the Master and Slave Cyls. at reasonable cost - overnight).

They're different. The larger trucks used a "U" shaped bell housing
cross member insulator.

Imperial wants $119. (U.S.) plus shipping! No thanks.Hobcobble wrote:They are an insulator. One big stud for the bell side and twovrod02 wrote:I think the are technically called bellhousing isolaters

Re: bellhousing mounts.
imperial services is the only game in town for these mounts. you don't have to pay $119. you can glue them back together with black rtv, like the previous owner did to my '68 w100. they'll work great UNTIL you start the engine lol.
personally, i think $119 is reasonable for a 50 year old obsolete part that is critical to the operation of the vehicle. why critical? years ago at the shop i worked for, an apprentice was helping a journeyman with a truck on the alignment rack. he was seated in the truck and kept getting on the gas with one foot on the brake to listen to the engine banging around because of a weak motor mount. he had fun until the weak mount broke, the engine/trans rotated which pulled the throttle linkage to WOT and launched the truck off the end of the rack (8' in the air) and through the side of the steel shop building. took more than $119 x2 to put humpty dumpty back together again...

Re: bellhousing mounts.
naaah, just some minor cuts and bruises on the low flying pilot, as i recall. the fishbowl amc he landed on was the major causality. was an old chevy truck and came through it surprisingly well. was quite a scene. there was one big winner. he took out bud's toolboxes on the way down, so the shop bought him new snap-ons, top box even had a car stereo built in :)
