Re: new box power steering
Kurt has done a great job at mocking this up and getting CCP to take a look and I do believe they are thinking about! As for me I going to use the info that Kurt has given us to make one or If I'm going to up input it in the master-cam and just make one part it just as ez to just push start button again I have used CCP part on few car I've built for other people I do like the service and parts,, Just putting out their

If you didn't see it this link has the solid works and parasolid files to give you a good starting point. We used a CMM to trace my plate so I am not sure if its exact. Do trial fit and modify as needed.

In the meantime, use ball bearings in your kingpins for an incredible difference over the factory washer bearing.

Kurt couldn't get ether file to work but all I need,,, is do you have the X and Y for the hole locations measured out,, is about all I need to put it on a old school mill with digital read outs set a point and go for it Ken
Re: new box power steering
I PM'd you something. You know it would be a lot easier if you just buy the parts and tranfser punch the plate they give you with the box. I am leary of the drawing of my plate. We used a brand new measurment system on it but I never verified anything.67cspowerwagon wrote:Kurt couldn't get ether file to work but all I need,,, is do you have the X and Y for the hole locations measured out,, is about all I need to put it on a old school mill with digital read outs set a point and go for it Ken

I am not a mechanical engineer but have exposure to 3D modeling SW and machining. I did a quick google search and I belive my solid works file can be importred to master cam.

Re: new box power steering
Me 4!! lol. I called classic performance and ordered my box a few days ago. I havnt had a whole lot of time and buying one would save me from having to fabricate my own. 67csPOWERWAGON What exactly would you be includeing in this "kit"? From the sounds of your earlier posts you have the ability to duplicate the steering box mounting plate that Kurt so generously made available to us. Is this one item what you are refering to?

Re: new box power steering
Is there a solution for connecting the new box to steering column?
Re: new box power steering
Hello Sweptliners,
I have been in contact with Kirk and now I will share with you.
We are in the R&D stages of the box at this moment which means we have a few prototype boxes that we are installing to determine which is the better fit.
The few of you that have already created a bracket and installed it have determined that the the column is having to be moved. Our concern is that once we start producing this box we will get the phone calls about this issue and will have customers upset.
Currently we have gotten it as close as 3/8" further from the frame and 3/8" lower than the stock box. We are trying to solve this by clocking the box slightly or altering the mount to raise it up slightly.
For those of you who have already installed it and asked, the box is ment to run at pressures between 900-1200PSI. Most pumps on the market today run at these pressures.

Re: new box power steering
I cant wait until this kit is done. This, the disc brake conversion AND potentially finding a donor cab to get my floorboards replaced all in a matter of days....sweet!
Please notify us all when this kit is ready to go! Thanks.
