Radiator HELP!!!
Radiator HELP!!!
Hello Fine People,
I need some help finding a replacement radiator for my 68 D100 318 LA, waterpump took a dump and the fan clutch destroyed the stock radiator. Id like to keep it as stock as possible. I brought the radiator to a local radiator shop and they cant even find a core for it. I dont mind an aftermarket aluminum one but money is tight. I do have local junkyards around but not having much luck.

Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Got mine from Leadfoot racing, they sell Champion aluminum radiators , I bought one for my 62 with a 440 works great and fit good too, had to modify mounting tabs some though, mine cost 210 bucks plus shipping, even has a built in tranny cooler, they have some generic mopar radiators, check out their website. Factory looking radiators are getting scarce and expensive.

Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Im learning more the re-cored radiators are in the $400 range. Where some of the champions or ebay aftermakets are in the $200 range. Was hoping for a lesser expensive fix since I have other parts to purchase as well. Thanks for the suggestions guys keepem coming.
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
62 ute hit it on the head. Champion 2 row from ledfoot wiith built in cooler good to 450 hp for 210$
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Thanks Guys I called Champion they have a really nice 3 row they are selling me for that price delivered and its really close to the stock one but its from a charger of the same year.
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
If anyone needs to know the part # from Champion for this radiator the part # CC1640, just a helpful tip. Its really close just had to drill one of the mounting tabs it fits like a glove. Its a 3 row with a large core 26" wide and 24" tall.

Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Its out of a 68 big block charger from the champion rep i ordered it from, apparently others are using this same one in earlier year sweptlines with big blocks...fits nicely with room to spare
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Sweet! Called them today after i measured my tollerances and it looks like it should fit! I will let you guys know how it goes!Spoon wrote:Its out of a 68 big block charger from the champion rep i ordered it from, apparently others are using this same one in earlier year sweptlines with big blocks...fits nicely with room to spare
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
Not sure where your inlet and outlets are but I bought an early 80 Dodge Diplomat (can't recall if it is 3 or 4 core) new, for cheap. The only thing I did not plan on was the the best routed hoses where a bit large on the ID and I had to use readily available step-down inserts at the Radiator. (mine is a 64 D-100 Poly/Auto)
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
The champion radiator worked great with only a little bit of fabrication! I would 100% recommend it!
Re: Radiator HELP!!!
I know this is an old thread, but I just installed the Champion CC1640 radiator. Only problem is that the lower outlet is 1.75 inch diameter, rather than the stock 1.5 inch diameter. Anyone know what lower radiator hose can be used for this?
Thanks,
Allen
Thanks,
Allen

Re: Radiator HELP!!!
I see Champion now has the CC6169 for our trucks... looks like a nice fit.
Anyone ever use ECP (Engineered Cooling Products) radiators?
The 26" sounds a lot like the same style and 1" coolant tubes the Champions use...

Re: Radiator HELP!!!
I have used the Champion style CC375 on three trucks (two 383 engines and one 340).
I have cut off the existing brackets as they are setup for 68-74 B and E bodies. I then welded on some 1.5" aluminum angle x 3/16" thickness, traced and drilled the four holes and it fits great. This way you can offset the radiator where ever you want. I have run the jaguar thermostatic fan clutches and that requires the radiator to be pushed forward so that the back face of the radiator is flush with the 4 bolt mounting surface on the core support.
