1966 D100 2wd short bed, 3 speed on the column with a slant six. Wondering mostly about body panels, but anything else I can salvage would be great.

You'll end up building two trucks. There aren't any pictures, but low mile, all original sounds good. It will be too nice to part out. There are some differences between the years. What body parts do you need? Doug's may also have what you need.

Bed assemblies swap straight up w/o mods (assuming both are the same wheelbase!). Glass is the same. Fenders swap, but the '71 has the sidemarker light holes to fill if going on a '66. Other things will swap, but with mods. Ideally, you should find a '65.5 - '68 truck for parts. The '68 has a few one-year-only features, but are not a huge deal.

Refrigerator doors don't swap to cabs with pushbutton doors without cab sheetmetal mods and vice versa.
Steering columns and floor penetrations are different.
Dash is different and cab is different where dash attaches.
Pedals and clutch actuation are totally different.
And more....

Thanks for the info. Went out to Doug's the other day, it was frigidly cold and I was a little underdressed but I still spent an hour or so out there just running around looking at stuff. He had way too much for me to look at in one day, I will have to go out there and spend an afternoon or maybe even a day once it gets a little nicer.

Doug's 4-Wheelers. He's in Pella, Iowa. He has quite a few old Dodge pickups, one of these days I will go out there with a camera and take some pictures.

Never mind, looks like he beat me to it. Soop is he pretty reasonable on his prices? I am looking for an 833 with overdrive to put behind my slant six, he wanted $500 a piece for the tranny alone, I thought that was kind of steep.

I think he is reasonable but some have said they think he is high. What are the alternatives? He'll give a deal when you buy a group of items over 1 item. I've talked him down on items before that I thought were too high. I've gone without enough money to cover all costs and he let me have everything I wanted for a discount price. If you pay with cash he may also give a discount.

You could also try Vintage Power Wagons in Fairfield, IA but they don't have a lot of sweptline stuff and prices are probably higher.

Thanks soopernaut and jts3m4 for the info and pic's on Doug's 4 Wheelers...I wish that we had a place like that around where I live. I love spending a whole day just looking around at a place like that.

For sure Mike. Trust me, as soon as the weather turns a little more favorable I am going to take a Saturday or even take a day off work and head out there to spend some time and probably some money. I will definitely post some pictures.
