I have a DREAM! A Honda Dream... that is!!
Alright... here is the story! When looking to get my '68 Sweptline back in late 2000, I noticed that he also had a 1965 Honda Dream in the car port. I asked him if he would sell it, but; NO it wasn't for sale. That was back in Sept. 2000. I have known him for years and I knew I could keep bugging him without him getting mad (as some people will if you "bug" them). He would just laugh and say... No, not for sale, when I would ask about it. Good things come to those who wait. A few weeks ago I saw him again at a "Bike Night" and I yelled over to him... "HEY, wheres my Honda?" and he says, Come over and make me an offer and get it out of my way! So I went over and we struck a deal. I brought it home on Sat. June 29, 2013. Just about 13 years after I had first noticed it. YES, it was kept in a garage the whole time and is original paint, and only 4779 miles on it. It is a CA77 which makes it the 305 Dream. It STILL has original tires on it too! Not running right now, but I haven't tried. He seems to "think" that the coil is bad. I won't know until I start messing around with it. In fact, it is STILL in the back of my Dodge. The WORST... and I mean the WORST thing on the bike is the Left Muffler is completely RUSTED OUT. Anyone out there have a LEFT SIDE muffler for a Honda Dream? Any other "Dream/Honda" owners?

Congrats! Always thought those looked cool.
My brother in law is seriously into old Honda motorcycles. Mostly CB's 350-750, but I think he has owned a Dream or two. He literally has tons of pipes hanging from his shop ceiling, he may have something for you. I'll PM you his number.

Thanks John, Yeah it does look good in the back... maybe I'll just leave it in there for "looks"! Kind of like a hood ornament!Hobcobble wrote:Nice bike Jim! I think it goes good in the back of your truck!

I have owned a 1966 305 super hawk for more than 30 years. Rode it a lot. After years of asking I gave it to my brother inlaw

I "believe" that the Dream and the Super Hawk used the same 305 engine. Just that the Dream was the "Touring" bike.kurt wrote:I have owned a 1966 305 super hawk for more than 30 years. Rode it a lot. After years of asking I gave it to my brother inlaw

THis is the only picture I can easily find. It was taken in 2008. The bike was black but at some point I sprayed it with leftover hemi orange.

Cool! Black must have been a popular color for those bikes/era. I know how it is with older pictures. When we used film, we were "careful" on how we used them. But with digitals now... we snap and snap away!
Thanks for posting that!

You look pretty young in this picture taken 5 years ago.... Can you reach
the pedals in your Crew Cab?....

I just realized the pic is from 2010 but for some reason the file name was 2008. I can almost kneel on the pegs on that bike. The kid asks to drive the truck and car all the time but I have to work the pedals of course.

I loved that when I was a kid, to sit in my Dad's or Uncle's laps and "drive". Great childhood memories.kurt wrote:I just realized the pic is from 2010 but for some reason the file name was 2008.
