Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?
They are off a 1966? Dodge 800. The guy wants a offer on that too, said he put $5000 into rebuilding the engine 10yrs ago but its seized so to me that means nothing. The box and hoist are just sitting on the frame and would need work to make it fit. Overall very poor shape, hasn't run in about 5yrs. So long story short is I don't really want the truck. Here's a picture, thought the emblems would good on my 64 crew once its 6bt powered.

Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?

Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?
$30-40 is a fair offer on those emblems, we usually get a little more when we sale them but usually are in better shape. The truck itself, later than '68 as it's a single headlight, probably '68 or '69 based on the cab lights, probably either a 555 Cummins or maybe a 230 Cummins since it's a diesel. As the truck sits, if the sheetmetal is fairly solid, I'd say maybe $2000 as shown. Scrap the box and hoist and recoup some money and you got a new project truck!! Kyle

Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?
Thanks for the info guys, I was assuming it was a 66 due to the fridge door handles. The owner says it has a 470 cu in Cummins in it, I have no idea though.

Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?
They were used into the late 60's, some even found on trucks as late as '72. Not sure on that 470 cu Cummins.gyman98 wrote:Thanks for the info guys, I was assuming it was a 66 due to the fridge door handles. The owner says it has a 470 cu in Cummins in it, I have no idea though.

It is a C series truck. So C800. The began with a single headlight, then went to 4 headlights on the late 60's then back to single headlights in the early 70's. They didn't put push button door handles on them. I see in the top pic it has a 70-71 marker light on the front fender.

Re: dodge diesel emblems, value?
Let me correct you on that, they started in '60 with 4 headlights and went to single headlights in '68/69. They were pull handle doors until the late 60's, we've found some as late as '72 models. About '70 they started going to push button doors and that's how they finished until they quit them in '75.thedodgeman69 wrote:It is a C series truck. So C800. That is a really neat truck. I would love to have a Dodge heavy truck. The Bighorn is #1 on my bucket list, but one like this would do nicely as an RV puller.

There's one like it coming up at auction in your neck of the woods next month. Its listed under fargo but I spoke to the guy having the auction and he said its actually a Dodge. He also said it had a Detroit diesel in it. He was going to send me pictures but I haven't received them yet. I'm posting from my cell phone or I'd find the sale bill for you.jgeebee63 wrote:That is a really neat truck. I would love to have a Dodge heavy truck. I would really like to find out about the truck available for auction. A Detroit would be cool. I work as a HD Mechanic, so classic heavy trucks are another thing I like.gyman98 wrote:There's one like it coming up at auction in your neck of the woods next month. There is a used heavy truck dealer friend of mine that has a '57 Kenworth bullnose truck for sale, that has a 335 Cummins with an Allison 5 speed automatic. It is really cool, but way out of my price range. That truck is on Kijiji.
