Final resting place

Post by handy1 »

My father and I went to a local junkyard and actually were able to find a few old swepts for some parts... Here are some pics from today's findings.

On my last visit to the wrecking yard, I saw the mobile car crusher was there. In a pile of flattened pickups was a flat Dodge with a CSS emblem sticking out. Oh boy.... :banghead

At least they are in good company with the other Chrysler products surrounding them.

Nice finds. I would try to get the emblems and trim at a minimum. :Thumbsup

It is still bent. Pretty much every single one is bent. I haven't priced it yet but I think it would cost the same to straighten a slightly bent one as it would to straighten a severely bent one.

Yep. I saw the bend in it. That's why I stated it was "not bad"..... :Thumbsup
For a guy like me who uses "driver quality" parts.... it would fit the bill.

I'm already looking into the front bumper (green truck) and rear bumper (orange truck). I want them for my truck. Chrome front and back driver quality would look great. Can't get the user to respond either with the yard name or number etc.. etc... I'm heading to Georgia Wednesday so it's a perfect opportunity!!!

The green one is the same color green as mine :Thumbsup except my cab top is a darker green. I search all over my area and can't seem to find these swepty rich yards :censored

Might want to take a sawzall too, you never know if there are any good end caps or anything that rots.

You'll be quite busy!

That chrome drip rail on the one is worth some coin, as is all the chrome trim on those trucks. And the front DODGE letters are easy to sell if they are not all pitted :Thumbsup

Looks like that red truck has turn signals indicators on the hood. Was it an adventurer?

I do not recall, but notice there is a badge under the vent window that could be of some help. If you click the image you should be redirected and can see a better resolution picture

It's a good thing I don't live near a wrecking yard like that. I'd go broke snagging anything remotely useable off those trucks...

That is always a "custom" cab badge.
