badges arrived
badges arrived
Last April a friend of mine told me that he thought a friend of his might have some N.O.S. badges. You know how the story goes, the friend of a friend of a friend, etc. After calling once a month at first, I finally gave up last September. Now that winter is almost over, I thought I would call again. He said "Yes I have them. I've had them for several months. I've been meaning to call." At long last, funds were sent and now the badges are in my hands. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is an unusual badge. Is that Canadian or something?

soopernaut,
I'm not sure what you mean when you said that this was an unusual badge, was it Canadian. The Canandian badges say "Fargo". Are you referring to the area where the foil sticker has " adventurer 100 " or are you thinking it should look like the badge I have pictured?

Canadians could buy EITHER:
- a Fargo from the Plymouth Dealership
or
- a Dodge from the Dodge Dealership
Don't believe we ever could buy Plymouth or DeSoto TRUCKS.

Re: badges arrived
Most of the trucks have badges like the one pictured in your second post. I was trying to determine why certain trucks got the badges in your first post. I did see them in the parts book and they aren't listed as Canadian only, but 1971 only. I have seen some trim that specifies Canada only so that is why I posed the question.SEAnthony wrote:soopernaut,

So why did some trucks get the Adventurer 100/200 or Custom 100/200 while most got the standard Dodge/Fargo 100/200 badges?
Dodge and Fargo trucks were sold in Canada. Fargos were sold by Plymouth dealers.

Depends on which option package it was built with.
Many different combo's depending on model year.

Re: badges arrived
I am pretty sure they are unique to 1971, while the other badges are 1969-70.soopernaut wrote:That is an unusual badge. Is that Canadian or something?
They also had unique emblems for each model...Custom 100 - Adventurer 100 - Sweptline Special - Custom 200 - Adventurer 200
So you have to find the correct embllem for your exact model, instead of just 100 or 200.

Re: badges arrived
But not all 71 Adventurers has Adventurer 100, 200, etc. Some had the standard Dodge 100, 200, etc. Ufo pointed out that it depends on the option package meaning there were probably different levels of trim on the Adventurer and I'm not refering to Sport, SE. It is still somewhat of a mystery to me.Yellow71 wrote:I am pretty sure they are unique to 1971, while the other badges are 1969-70.soopernaut wrote:That is an unusual badge. Re: badges arrived
I am sure that you are correct for at least this reason...Dodge would use up the 69-70 style, holding back a certain number for spares, before switching over.soopernaut wrote:But not all 71 Adventurers has Adventurer 100, 200, etc. Some had the standard Dodge 100, 200, etc. Ufo pointed out that it depends on the option package meaning there were probably different levels of trim on the Adventurer and I'm not refering to Sport, SE.
